Should you shoot in 4K?

One of the questions we get asked quite often when we're out shooting is whether or not we're recording in 4K. Until recently, the answer was "no".

Simply, shooting in a higher resolution than 1080p HD comes with several downsides that typically haven't been worth it for most of our projects.

In this video, I explain some of the reasons in why you might want to start shooting in 4K, and also why you might want to stick with 1080p or lower for some applications.

In an earlier post I explained what video resolutions are, so unless you already know the difference between 720p, 1080p and 4K, I would suggest reading that before you press on!
